How to set up a Social Feature
The five steps from finding your podcast to confirming a publish date.
Setting up a feature takes about ten minutes. You can stop partway; your progress is saved in your browser and the dashboard offers to pick up where you left off.
1. Find your podcast
Type the show's name and choose it from the results. The search uses Apple Podcasts, so the show needs a listing there.
2. Confirm your email
If you aren't signed in, we send a confirmation link. The address from your podcast's feed is suggested, but you can use any address. Opening the link signs you in (creating an account if you need one) and takes you straight back to your feature. Confirming also subscribes you to the newsletter.
3. Tell us about the show
Two questions are required: whether the podcast is independently produced or part of a network, and how it is funded. The rest is optional but worth filling in:
- Your website. We look there for your social accounts so you don't have to type them.
- Links such as a newsletter, Patreon, Spotify memberships, Podpage, Buy Me a Coffee, Ko-fi or PayPal.
- Your number-one goal, your ideal listener, and what makes the show different.
- Files that help us write, up to 25 MB each.
A signal-strength gauge shows how much we have to work with. When you're ready, press Write my post.
4. Review the post
We write a draft of the post for you. Read it, check the handles we found for each network, and edit anything that isn't right. Editing is covered in its own article, because it changes how the feature is approved.
5. Confirm the date
The first open date is filled in. Keep it, or pick another available date from the calendar. Then press Confirm and Accept (or Confirm and Submit if you changed the date). You'll see the confirmed date with buttons to add it to Google Calendar or Apple Calendar.
After that, the feature appears under Upcoming on your dashboard Home, and under Marketing > Social Features.
